The “A New Bloom” by Lacie RZ Porta
Having become a new mom in September, the Woman with an Idea inspired Lacie to interpret what happens when motherhood and her art meet. This new season of life felt like a whole new beginning, and using this bright selection of flowers, including cherry blossom buds, in her frame felt like a reflection of her new self in bloom. Similar to her medium of pressed flowers, motherhood has shown her tenderness in the little moments—how it requires patience and is constantly surprising her in the ways that it can be so beautiful.

About the Artist
Framed Florals is a Brooklyn-based flower preservation studio. Lacie launched Framed Florals after her own wedding in 2017. When looking for a modern, airy, and organic flower preservation option for her own wedding flowers and not finding what she envisioned, she created her own piece. That frame was the catalyst to start Framed Florals. Since then, Lacie has created hundreds of frames, pressed thousands of flowers, and cultivated an online community through her love of flowers.
