M.M.LaFleur Partners with 2024 Solheim Cup to Inspire More Women to Hit the Green
M.M.LaFleur expands commitment to women in sports, following partnership with the WNBA’s New York Liberty
NEW YORK, September 4, 2024 - Today, M.M.LaFleur, a New York City-based women's fashion brand committed to advancing women, announced its partnership with the 2024 Solheim Cup, the premier women's golf competition between Europe and the United States. This year has been pivotal for women in sports, with visibility at an all-time high. Expanding on its partnership with the WNBA’s New York Liberty, M.M.LaFleur’s new partnership with the Solheim Cup reinforces its role as a champion of women athletes as well as the business leaders advocating for the continued visibility and recognition of women’s sports. The partnership will kick off with the Opening Ceremony at the Solheim Cup, for which M.M.LaFleur is dressing the U.S. Team.
"For too long, women have been left out of the clubhouse where the big deals happen. With this partnership, we’re addressing gender parity in this sport,” said Sarah LaFleur, Founder and CEO of M.M.LaFleur. “The diverse audience this event attracts – from golf enthusiasts to busy professionals – perfectly aligns with our customer base. As part of our commitment to supporting women's sports, we're focused on increasing visibility for the Solheim Cup to our highly engaged community and inspire them to get out on the green."
The 2024 Solheim Cup will take place from Sept. 13–15 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia, with M.M.LaFleur's stylish impact visible from the Opening Ceremony onward.
“We are grateful to the team at M.M.LaFleur for their support of the U.S. Team during the 2024 Solheim Cup,” said LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan. “Their commitment to championing women athletes – and women leaders in the sports business community – reflects our shared vision of elevating, empowering and inspiring women and girls through golf.”
M.M.LaFleur and the Solheim Cup partnership emerged when U.S. Assistant Captain Morgan Pressel, already part of the M.M.LaFleur community as a wearer of its clothing, suggested an M.M.LaFleur dress for the U.S. Team’s Opening Ceremony attire. “The M.M.LaFleur dress that we will wear at the Opening Ceremony strikes a perfect balance between stylish and powerful,” said Pressel, who played on the U.S. Team six times and is in her second year as an assistant captain. “The M.M.LaFleur team delivered a perfect look for the occasion with a dress that will look great on everyone on the team.”
M.M.LaFleur's thoughtfully curated product assortment resonates deeply with the Solheim Cup community's ethos of excellence and sophistication. The synergy is undeniable – M.M.LaFleur's discerning clientele and the Solheim Cup's passionate fans both appreciate quality, performance and style.
The partnership goes beyond the Opening Ceremony, encompassing various initiatives to engage golf enthusiasts and fashion-forward professionals. M.M.LaFleur will provide ongoing styling support for LPGA C-Suite executives, LPGA Board of Directors members, and other executive team members for key off-course appearances. LPGA employees, members and fans will receive special discount codes for M.M.LaFleur purchases, while M.M.LaFleur customers will enjoy discounts on Solheim Cup tickets and merchandise. Fans will get an insider's look at the U.S. Team's styling journey through exclusive video and photo content captured during fittings and pre-event preparations. Finally, M.M.LaFleur will host a collaborative event later this year, further connecting the worlds of golf and professional fashion.
